Bill Taylor

Bill Taylor was born in Banff, Scotland and studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, graduating in Drawing and Painting. A year of post-graduate study led to a further award (Highly Commended).

He has held various senior posts in education, was a part-time Lecturer at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee and Assessor in Art & Design for the Scottish Qualifications Authority. For a number of years, Bill Taylor served on the Board of Directors, at Dundee Contemporary Arts. He is a Professional Member of The Society of Scottish Artists (SSA)

Bill Taylor’s work is essentially landscape-based/inspired and is influenced by the geometries which occur in nature. Both music and poetry are major factors in the development of his work.

“In producing work, I tend to select elements from the environment and reformulate them. The works are therefore an abstraction or a translation of these elements. My intention is to communicate a sense of space, movement and order”.
