Bill Taylor

Bill Taylor was born in Banff, Scotland and studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, graduating in Drawing and Painting in 1970. A year of post-graduate study led to a further award (Highly Commended) in 1971. He gained a qualification in teaching in 1972.

During a career in education, he held various posts including Principal Teacher of Art & Design at Grove Academy, Broughty Ferry and Principal Teacher of Art & Design At Harris Academy, Dundee. He also held the post of Staff Tutor for Tayside Regional Council, was a part-time Lecturer in the School of Town and Regional Planning, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee and was Assessor in Art & Design for the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

For a number of years, Bill Taylor was secretary of The Scottish Centre for Geopoetics. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors, Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA) and currently serves as a local Community Councillor.

Throughout his years in education and beyond, he continued to develop a simultaneous career as a practising artist. Details follow:
